Forgive me for posting a ridiculous number of photos of one parade.

Parade theme 1: dogs. Here are some English sheepdogs and their... toy soldiers?
I am glad my high school band uniforms did not look like this:
Cowboys:
Reindeer on unicycles. I guess if they can fly they can unicycle.
Impressive job of staying in straight lines (look at those diagonals!).
Following a sign that said, "Hope your holidays are dino-mite!":
Scotties:
Giant Scotty:
Yep, we really like dogs here in Seattle:
And, finally, a gingerbread house:
I had a blast.

Kinnear: my contribution

I've been trying to get a good picture of this bus for awhile now. It's a little complicated to explain. It may make a little sense if you read this blog entry by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, and then a follow-up explanation here. See also the bottom of this wikipedia page (the "pop culture references" section - "to kinnear").

Our new attraction for visitors

When Jason saw that I finally broke down and bought a coffeemaker, he said, "Call your parents and my mom, I think they'll all come visit immediately." Turns out? Two of five parents have plans to come visit very soon. Coincidence? And hey you other three? Have we drawn you in yet? You won't have to run down the street anymore for coffee!

dress in a window

The floral pattern on this dress (from the window of a fancy bridal designer near the building where I work) reminded me of sheets and bedspreads we had around the house growing up. It's funny to think of someone wearing it at a wedding.

The Last 5 Years

Rachel & I went to see this last weekend, thanks to a free ticket promotion for Seattle's Live Theatre Week. I've been listening to the soundtrack of The Last 5 Years for about... the last 4 years. :) I was thrilled to finally see it as a live show!
