Apples + Snickers + Cool-Whip
After doing some internet research, I've learned that people make pretty wild variations on this salad: they add vanilla pudding, sour cream, caramel, SIX snickers bars (I only used 1!) etc., etc. I'm good with just cool whip (lite), 2.5 apples, and a snickers bar (made about 4 april-sized snacks). Jason was too weirded out by it to try it.

Burnt cookies
I made orange chocolate-chip cookies this morning. They looked pretty before I put them in the oven.
But then I burnt them. Apparently the oven in our new house runs hot. At least it wasn't as bad as the time I put easymac noodles in the microwave without water. I've been trying to dig up the pictures of that, but so far no luck.

Our first cookout!
We finally, finally got everything together (grill, propane, grill-able meat) in one place and grilled brats last night. Yum!

pumpkin chocolate chip cookies
mix these two things:

stir in as many of these as seems appropriate to you:

then drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet and bake for about 12 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

yum!

new trend in milk?
I must admit that I got really excited about the funny-shaped milk jugs at the store. I told Jason I think we might be living through a milk jug revolution -- what if we can someday say things to our kids like, "Well, I remember when milk came in a whole different shape of jug?"
... He wasn't as excited about this as I was.
