for knitting posterity

The sock on the left is an average-sized women's sock from a department store. The sock on the right is my first attempt at knitting a sock (I didn't close the toe, that's why it looks weird at the toe). It's HUGE! SO HUGE!

I am now knitting another sock (not pictured) that is a much more reasonable size. I bought smaller needles to use with the same yarn.

Anyway, I thought I'd better take a picture of it since I'm going to unravel it today so that I can make a (hopefully) wearable-sized sock.

jason called seeing the oscar mayer wienermobile, "a once in a lifetime event." i don't know if i'd go that far. but it was really funny to see it parked between kinkos and costco last night.
